Over the years Bands for Lands has found successful and innovative yet inexpensive ways to spread the message of self-sustainability, conservation and social awareness issues to thousands of people. Since 1996 Bands for Lands has continued to produce events and attach itself and collaborate with existing events educating and promulgating the message of self sustainability, conservation and social awareness issues.
The trend continues and is only getting bigger and more promising through our new pioneering concept! BFL's Mobile Edutainment Collaboratory (MEC), will enable our all too important message of reaching a wider audience become a reality. It is also our aim through this concept to partner and align ourselves with like-minded organizations and grass roots groups to combat the environmental and social issues facing our planet right now. Bands for Lands believes by forming alliances and partnerships with an array of others from environmental groups to faith-based organizations, to conscientious businesses and labor unions, etc., The MEC will help spread our shared vision in promulgating a more harmonious, egalitarian, healthy and prosperous world view. A worldview where the planet and all depending on Mother Earth are treated in shared reverence.
The Mobile Edutainment Collaboratory is a bio-diesel & Straight Vegetable Oil (SVO) fueled 24 foot box truck that will be also be converted into a solar powered mobile sound and visual stage. The MEC has been designed to effectively promulgate the globally imperative message of sustainability, conservation, and social activism & responsibility through music and the arts. Integrally incorporated into it all is an educational component geared to teach attendees the necessary and easily attainable methods to implement these principles in their daily lives.
