Aug 2008- Bands for Lands provides the Mobile Edutainment Collaboratory (MEC) to Tent State for their upcoming events during the DNC showcasing environmental and social awareness & justice issues. Internationally renowned scholars, celebreties, bands and artists locked in to perform including performances by Rage Against the Machine, The Coup, Flobots, Jello Biafra, State Radio, Wayne Kramer and more.
Demiurge Design completes second phase of MEC build-out; constructing the slide out stage.
June 2008- First phase of the MEC is completed by Joe Riche of the Motoman Project; sliding doors and basic stage are in place. SVO conversion begins. BFL also continues its involvement with the Sustainable Living Roadshow and partners in preperation for the upcoming DNC event Aug 26 & 27th at Hirshorn Park in the Highlands Community.
April 2008- Bands for Lands purchases and begins build out phase of the Mobile Educational Collaboratory (MEC), a bio-diesel and Straight Vegetable Oil (SVO) fueled, 24 foot box truck that has been converted into a mobile stage and venue. The Motoman Project takes on the task to build out this innovative and ambitious endeavor.
January 2008- Bands for Lands forms partnership with The Sustainable Living Roadshow. Begins plans for upcoming summer and fall national tours.
In 2007- BFL staff takes time off to assess the state of the organization. Transpiring from these meetings was a shifted focus and a new strategy that will more successfully carry out the mission of Bands for Lands. Coming soon BFL's The Construct Mobile Educational Collaboratory!
